Meals & Snacks

The Infant and Junior children break for lunch between 12.00 noon and 1.00pm. The children eat together in the Dining Room and School Hall and the children are looked after and supported by an experienced team of Midday Supervisors.

Your child may have a school lunch, prepared on the premises, or a packed lunch. These can be alternated on a weekly basis. Our delicious school meals conform to the National Nutritional Standards and include healthy options such as jacket potatoes, salad bar, yoghurt and fresh fruit as well as home-cooked hot meal.

If you do decide to send your child with a packed lunch we ask that you send food that you know that your child will eat with enthusiasm, and also that there should not be too much of it, as sometimes children can become anxious. We are keen to promote healthy eating and request that packed lunches are provided with this in mind.

Your child should be able to open/unwrap the food by themselves. For safety reasons we do not allow food in glass containers, nor do we allow peanuts or sweets to be brought to school. As our storage space is limited we request that lunch boxes are kept as small as possible, and are clearly marked with your child’s name. Any spoons needed must be brought from home. Your child also needs a drink (not fizzy) if they bring a packed lunch, as drinks are not provided in school for children who have packed lunches.

Children may bring a piece of fruit to eat at playtime. (May we request that oranges are peeled at home and sent to school wrapped in cling film.) However children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are provided with a piece of fruit through the National Fruit and Vegetable Scheme. The children are provided with a drinks flask to ensure that they have regular drinks throughout the day.

Lunch Money

All Infant children are provided with free universal school meals. School lunches for junior children (currently £2.30 per day) are paid for weekly, in advance, on Monday mornings. Money coming into school should arrive on Monday mornings (or the first day back at school following a holiday) as this is the day when banking procedures are carried out.

Please pay in online or via the app using ParentPay –

The school office can provide log in details should you have forgotten your credentials.
