Parents & Carers

Starting the day

Punctuality is an important life skill for our children, so we start each school day at 8.40am.

Registers are taken promptly. Children who arrive after 8.45am are marked late.

Children arriving late should be brought to the front door of school. Ring the doorbell for the school administrators to let them in and register them.

At the end of the school day the gates are unlocked at 3.05pm ready for pick up at 3.15pm.

If you need to collect your child during the school day, please come to the main office.

Attending every day

Every day is a learning day at our school, so attendance is really important to us all.

Only the headteacher can authorise absence from school. Authorised absence are things like illness and hospital or dental appointments.

If your child is ill, please let us know by telephone on the first day of absence and leave a message. Please telephone us on each day of absence.

For other absences, parents must make a request in advance (including for doctor and dentist appointments).  You can download the request form here.

Headteachers may not grant any leave of absence during term time unless there are exceptional circumstances. This means holidays in term time will not be authorised.

Returning To School After Illness

If your child has had sickness or diarrhoea, please wait for 48 hours after the last occurrence of the symptoms before they return to school.  That helps prevent return of the illness or it being passed on to other children.
